Dundee

Dundee, Scotland's fourth largest city, is less than 20 miles from Blairgowrie and is easily reached by car, although you may want to let others do the driving and take on of the regular buses that run almost every hour throughout the day.

The city takes its name from RRS Discovery, the ship used by Captain Scott on his famous Antartic expedition, which is now berthed at the award winning Discovery Point Visitor Centre on the River Tay. Nearby, the Sensation Science Centre makes science fun for children with all kinds of interactive exhibits, while Verdant Works tells the story of the city's working people from when it was famous for producing the 3 J's - jame, jute and journalism.

Great shopping combine with a growing cultural scene to make Dundee an exciting day out.
