Support local project by sharing your stories of the River Ericht

on .

A local artist, Dr Aileen Stackhouse has recently been awarded funding from Creative Scotland’s Open Project Funding Programme towards a research project into the River Ericht. Aileen would like to hear from anyone who would like to contribute to the project:

“I would like to speak to people with knowledge, either about the Ericht, or other similar rivers in Scotland. My aim is to find out more about the river and its' surrounding area then eventually make an artwork in response.

I have lived in Blairgowrie for 28 years and studied sculpture at Duncan of Jordanstone art college in Dundee graduating in 1998, going on to receive my PhD in 2006. My work explores our relationship with landscape and environment. This research will be the first time I have worked directly within my own community and I expect to find much that I do not know. At this stage I am gathering information rather planning a work.

You can read my blog regarding the project so far at https://www.aileenmstackhouse.co.uk/blog/

If you are interested in talking to me about the River Ericht, if you know someone with relevant knowledge who may be, or if you are aware of resources that I could investigate then I can be contacted by email This email address is being protected from spambots.
